Liver Cleansing Yoga @ The Yoga

The Yoga Place has designed an eight week course to compliment
and strengthen the impact of Dr Sandra Cabot's eight week Liver cleansing diet. We
also recommend it to people who want to loose weight or improve their digestion and
/ or immune system function.
In addition to the benefits from the yoga the course provides a number of additional
benfits
- Support - A forum of people doing the same thing who
you can discuss your experiences with
- Commitment - Paying money plus the great results from
the yoga make it much easier to perservere
- A tighter and trimmer body - One of the problems people
can have when they loose weight is they loose in the wrong places. The yoga works
the whole body and so weight loss is more even and the whole body is strengthened.
Walking is great but it doesn't do much for the internal organs, arms, buttocks and
abdomen.
- Advice - Everyone has an individual constitutional
make up. This means we react differently to foods, the weather etc. For some of you
this means you will have some problems following the diet to the letter - raw food,
fruit & cold drinks may be too much for your digestive system. We understand
these problems and can tailor the diet to suit your specific needs.
- Shiatsu - learn a few simple Shiatsu massage routines
you can use on your friends and family.
We have used our knowledge of yoga, Ayurveda and meridian medicine to design this
course.
- We use stimulating techniques to disperse stagnation
and congestion and get energy flowing properly again
- We strenghten the digestive system and liver function.
This improves general energy levels, builds body reserves, improves the immune fuction,
calms mood swings and removes the fogginess in the head that some people suffer from.
It will also tighten the inside of your thighs and your stomach.
- We strengthen the elimination system. In addition to
facilitating detoxification this tightens the buttocks and lower abdomen, two areas
which a lot of women have a problem with.
- We finish the classes with a short Shiatsu based massage
designed to improve meridian function.
The course consists of three classes a week: A core
class on Saturday morning from 9.30 to 11 am and two other classes during the week.
There are a number of different times to choose from - see the timetable below. Some
of you - for example those of you with bad back problems, stress, neck and shoulder
problems - may even find that some of the classes outside this group are more helpfull.
We can discuss this with you.
For those of you who react negatively to the idea of an early morning class, you
are probably the ones who can benefit the most from these classes. Early morning
exercise resets the body's metabolic rate so it works faster all day, you loose weight
more quickly and have more energy for the day.
